Activities

We're really proud of the special programs and recess alternatives that we are able to offer the students at Hilltop!

	Chorus is open to all 4th, 5th and 6th graders who would like to pursue their interest in singing in a large group. The group is formed in October and meets during recess. There will be many performance opportunities throughout the year and Mrs.Shatto is excited to be directing this fun and challenging ensemble!
	Orchestra and Band programs are also offered at Hilltop. These groups perform annually at the Hilltop Arts Festivals and scheduled concerts. There are separate bands and orchestras for the 5th grade and the 6th grade. The bands are under the direction of Mr. Blosser and the orchestras are under the direction of Colleen Fretz.

	The library is open during some recess times for students to read, research, check out resources, and do school work. Check the posted schedules for open times. Every year, some students choose to work as Library Helpers. If interested, please see Mr. Garrard.
	Boys have special interests in the books they read, and this club brings them together for discussion of books and literature.
	The Window Room is open each recess. Children may choose among a variety of activities. Each week an art project is offered, i.e., stringing pasta for necklaces, origami, making valentines, etc. Games, books, toys, building apparatus, drawing paper, color sheets, stencils, stamps, and puzzles are also for the children to expand on their imagination. Students may also bring classroom work to complete.
