We Miss you!

April 21, 2020

Dear Hilltop Families,

I hope you enjoyed our Hilltop Hello video from our staff. We will have other Fun Friday activities planned between now and the end of the school year to keep up the Hilltop Husky spirit! This Friday, have your child look for a hello in the mail and wear your Husky spirit wear or the color blue. You can submit a picture of yourself learning at home to be considered for a special Hilltop Spirit Working From Home Page in the yearbook by following these directions. We have a number of important things coming up that require your attention.  There are still nine more weeks of school before summer vacation, and we have plans to keep everyone learning.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: Curbside Materials Pick-Up and Drop-Off Please mark your calendar to stop by during one of the following times to return any books or other items for a teacher. In return, your child’s teacher will have items from your child’s desk and materials for the last six weeks of school. We will have another curbside drop-off during the last week of school to return Chromebooks and pick up end-of-the year items.

Hilltop’s May Curbside Pick-Up/Drop-off

Monday, May 11, 2020

10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

2 to 6 p.m.

Wednesday, May 13, 2020

8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

ACTION ITEM: Complete the “Reserve A Place” form by May 1st.  We need all parents of K-5th grade students to complete a form about your intent to return to Hilltop in the fall. This is something we do every school year.  Due to the school closure, we are using a new electronic format to collect this data. Please fill out this “Reserve A Place” form for each of your students.

In May, the entire teaching staff will begin cooperatively planning for students' placement for 2020-21.  Current classroom teachers, specialists (PE, Music, Library), Learning Support and counselors all work together with the Principal. Our goal is to create the best learning community for each classroom i.e., equitable distribution of students of varying abilities, talents and learning styles.

We do accept parent input regarding learning factors that you want us to consider in deciding your child's placement. We do not, however, accept requests for specific teachers.  If you have any information you would like us to consider when placing your child in a classroom for the next school year, please email Michelle Howell to request a form prior to May 1st. howellm673@edmonds.wednet.edu
